Hello, I’m Ian Berry. I’m a photographer, videographer, and media arts teacher based in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Originally from Muskegon, Michigan, I grew up in Central Virginia and got hooked on video production back in high school.
I got my start professionally in 2007 at WVIR NBC 29 in Charlottesville, VA, then headed to Austin, TX in 2009 to dive deeper into the production world. While there, I studied Radio-Television-Film at Austin Community College and worked on everything from live events and music videos to narrative films. I also spent a few years filming and editing for the Austin Independent School District.
In 2017, I moved to Dallas and worked with the Dallas Center for Photography, helped out on commercial sets, and wrapped up my bachelor’s degree in Media Arts at the University of North Texas before moving back to Virginia in 2020.
These days, I split my time between teaching high school media arts for Albemarle County Public Schools and doing freelance photography and video production work.
